Summary:
In his well-known BioEdge newsletter, Bioethics news from around the world, Michael Cook has been regularly posting comments on bioethical issues in the treatment of bodies. This article collects some of these materials, dealing with frauds in the funeral treatment of corpses, research on Nazi anatomists, debates on archaeological treatments of Egyptian mummies, and references to public exhibits of plastinated bodies. They are published with the permission of the author, compiled in dialogue with the Antigone theme that motivates this issue of Aesthethika. In all cases, the reference to the original article in English that appeared in BioEdge is cited.
