Summary:
Starting from the latest novel by Kazuo Ishigruo, Klara and the Sun, and making use of the power that fictions have to raise fruitful questions that address current problems, issues related to the registration of the imaginary, the process of elaborating a duel and the way in which scientific knowledge operates will be traced. Contributions from Psychoanalysis will be used for this exploration.
On the other hand, the article proposes a dialogue with a chapter of the series “Black Mirror” (Brooker, 2011) that works on the same theme: under which circumstances do new technologies make possible the singular work of a duel or, on the contrary, are put at the service of crushing the process that makes the structural character of the human species.
